The design on the Callisto table lamp has been created to echo the matching shade with it's ovals and cross-hatching. Cressias supposes there is a nod to her Bloomsbury heritage here – but she likes to think it comes very much from her own sense of pattern.
These unique lamp bases are designed to go with her selection of lampshades. They are made of turned elm and produced especially for us in Sussex. I paint each one by hand which means no two are ever the same – though perfection is my aim. They are all bear my painted signature near to the base.
After painting they receive a protective semi-matt varnish and are fitted with a brass switched bayonet cap lampholder and a classic linen-covered stripey cream & black flex.
